Smart Thermostat

Electronic Engineering Thesis

Design and development of a connected thermostat capable of controlling a boiler or heat pump based on the user-set temperature and the surrounding environment. The device supports personalized scheduling by time and day of the week and offers smart features through Wi-Fi connectivity, seamlessly integrating with Home Assistant-based smart home systems.

The project includes:

  • Power supply from the mains and communication with the heater/boiler.
  • Microcontroller programming to manage all smart functionalities.
  • Design and production of printed circuit boards for complete thermostat control and intelligent display with touch imputs.
  • Design and creation of a plastic enclosure to house all components.
A complete project combining electronics, programming, and mechanical design to deliver a modern, intelligent, and fully connected thermostat.

This thermostat is designed to be connected with Home Assistant using ESPHome framework.
